We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Ledger Clerk with proven experience using Xero accounting software. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable ledger, processing supplier invoices, managing payment runs, and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. You will play a key role in supporting the finance function, helping to maintain strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Job Responsibilities
1. Invoice Processing & Ledger Management
– Accurately process supplier invoices and credit notes into Xero.
-Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger, ensuring all entries are correct and up to date.
– Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes, resolving any discrepancies.
2. Payment Processing
– Prepare and process weekly and monthly supplier payment runs.
– Ensure all payments are made in accordance with agreed terms.
– Monitor payment due dates and manage payment schedules proactively.
3. Reconciliation & Reporting
– Perform supplier statement reconciliations and follow up on any outstanding items.
– Assist with month-end closing procedures, including AP reports and accruals.
– Maintain accurate records and support internal and external audits as required.
4. Communication & Supplier Relations
– Respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally.
– Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth processing of invoices and payments.
– Maintain strong, professional relationships with key suppliers.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in an accounts payable or finance administration role.
Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software.
High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and work to deadlines.Preferred Qualifications
AAT qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
Experience working in SMEs, professional services, or fast-paced environments is advantageous.Benefits & Perks
