How is payroll handled?
Monthly, on a fixed date agreed at onboarding. We run payroll in local currency, generate compliant payslips, make all statutory deductions and contributions, and pay salaries directly to employees. You receive a single consolidated invoice in your preferred currency (GBP, USD, EUR).
What benefits can be included?
All statutory benefits are included by default. Optional add-ons include private healthcare schemes, retirement fund contributions, life and disability cover, and bespoke wellness programmes. We’ll structure a package appropriate to the country and role.
Who handles performance management?
You do, day-to-day. Your line managers run regular performance conversations. The Scaleshore HRBP supports with framework, documentation, and any formal process — particularly when performance issues need to be managed compliantly under local labour law.
What happens if we need to off-board someone?
The HRBP guides you through it. South African labour law (and most jurisdictions) requires specific processes for fair dismissal — we handle the legal mechanics, documentation, exit interviews, final payments, and any CCMA-type follow-up. You stay protected; the employee is treated fairly.
How do I get visibility into my team?
Through your dedicated HRBP and our partner self-service portal. You see employment contracts, headcount, leave balances, payroll history, and HRBP meeting notes in one place. Monthly partner reviews summarise everything operationally important.
Can employees access their own information?
Yes — via both a self-service portal and our WhatsApp bot. Payslips, leave applications, expense submissions, and tax certificates are all available without raising a ticket. Most employees do everything from their phone.
